Jarrett Gercken - Raleigh, North Carolina
Make no question, Jarrett’s UNC fandom runs deep. Born into a family of Tar Heels, Jarrett is now carrying the torch with his own family. After grabbing True Fan Pricing™ tickets on the app and bringing his son to the UNC vs. NC State game, Jarrett shared his fan journey with us in this exclusive Super Fan Spotlight.
What classifies you as a Tar Heels Superfan?
I’ve been following the team for most of my life! I go to several games across sports every year, including tournament games when possible. I never miss a single basketball or football game, whether I can watch it live or later. I follow all of the news and recruiting, and have family on campus so I’m around a good bit.
What's your favorite moment as a fan?
I got to attend an open practice and guided tour with players and staff a few years ago, and it was so cool. I got to meet and take photos with Coach Roy Williams, Eric Montross, and other legends. My favorite sports moment was the 2017 National Championship, followed closely by the UNC win over Duke in the 2022 Final Four.
How was your True Fan Pricing™ experience?
The checkout was super quick and painless, and the price point without fees is incredible. Super grateful to have been able to attend this game affordably. I took my 9-year-old son (just his second actual game!), and we had a completely perfect day. Great seats, great weather, great game, and a Heels win!
What's the best game (in any sport) you've ever attended for your team?
UNC @ Duke in 2006 for JJ Redick’s senior night. Freshman Tyler Hansbrough hit a wild 3 and the Heels won 83-76.
What's the craziest thing you've ever done as a fan?
Rushed Franklin Street after a Duke win and jumped over a fire lol.
What's the most memorable fan item you've ever spent money on?
The Michael Jordan “Ceiling. Roof. Champion.” shirt that I ended up having signed by Joel Berry and Theo Pinson.
How has your experience been on the Autograph App so far?
Loving it! I joined off a Reddit or Twitter ad for the tickets (which worked out!), but the content in the app and the way everything works has kept me really engaged. I never realized I was missing consolidated content like this. I’ve really enjoyed it and have been sharing it with other fans whenever I can.
