New Coin System + Leaderboard
August 26, 2024
By Autograph
Key Takeaways:
•
There is a new daily limit of 250 coins globally
•
Leaderboards now show "acts of fandom" instead of coins
•
There will be no changes to levels
•
There will be no retroactive changes to coin totals
It's been over a month since we announced our last update to our coin system, and since then we've received tons of feedback from the community. As we close out August and prepare for football, we're excited to announce a few new changes that we feel more accurately reflect the spirit of the platform.
NEW DAILY COIN LIMIT
Starting today, we are implementing a daily coin limit of 250 coins globally. This is higher than the original weekly app limit of 1k, but obviously puts a new cap on what was most recently an uncapped coin limit.
Keep in mind, you can still read, watch & listen as much as you'd like, and your activity will still be tracked on your profile - but you will be capped at 250 coins.
A few more details:
•
Streaks allow you to surpass this limit
•
Partial coins will be awarded when a user is close to their limit
•
For example, if you are at 240 coins and listen to a podcast, you will receive 10 coins to reach 250 for the day
You will also find a new modal which outlines your daily coin activity. Simply tap the coins icon to view yours.
We will not be making any changes to levels, nor will we implement any retroactive changes to coin totals.
Leaderboard Changes
Going forward, the leaderboard will show your "acts of fandom" as the main metric, rather than overall coin total.
This means the left toggle will now allow you to view the leaderboard based off:
•
Total Fandom Acts
•
Weekly Reads
•
Weekly Listens
•
Weekly Watches
•
Streaks
While the previous no cap coin system was a fun and valuable trial, it has become clear based on user feedback that we needed to implement a bit more structure into the overall coin process, and we thank each of you who took the time to share your thoughts, ideas, and suggestions with us.
As always, we invite the community to share their ideas directly on our Feedback Forum or email us directly at support@ag.fan. Don't forget to update the app!
